WAYAMBA UNIVERSITY OF                        SRI LANKA

v Wayamba University is a national university in Sri Lanka. There are two premises of The           Wayamba University. One is located in kuliyapitiya and other one is located in Makandura.        The vision of Wayamba University is “To gain international eminence as an institute which strives towards building healthier societies by responding to the needs of the community”.  

           v This university was established as the affiliated University College of North Western                Province in 1991 and after it was become the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka ‘                        Wayamba Mandapa” in 1996. After that, it was named as Wayamba University of Sri                Lanka in 1999. There are five faculties in Waymaba University. They are Faculty of                   Applied Sciences, Faculty of Business Studies and Finance, Faculty of Technology,                  Faculty of Agriculture and plantation Management and faculty of Live Stock,                              Fisheries & Nutrition. Among them, last two faculties are located at Makandura                          premises.

v Among the above faculties, Faculty of Business and Finance is a very valuable faculty in the university. It consists of four departments of studies. They are Department of Accountancy and Finance, Department of Banking and Finance, Department of Business Management and Department of Insurance and Valuation. Dr. S.K.Gamage is the dean of this faculty. Presently over 1300 undergraduate are studying in the faculty. The faculty owns a well-equipped computer laboratory and majority of lectures rooms consists with multimedia facilities. 

v University is one of the best universities in Sri Lanka. I am glad that I am an undergraduate of this university
